INSTRUCTION:
First I’d like to remind you that ‘practice makes perfect’, so you are advised to practice using English any time and anywhere. Writing to me is one of the ways, and you should write more than just once a week. For example, write me soon, and then after getting the feedback, try to rewrite your assignments.
In the last class, we have studied about PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE and the use of ‘AND’ to join 2 sentences. Present continuous tense is used to describe (1) a happening action and (2) an activity that is in progress but is not happening at the moment of speaking. Also, we have learnt and practiced how to combine 2 sentences using ‘AND’. Look at these examples:
I am in a coffee shop now. In front of me, my brother is doing something on his laptop and another man is listening to the music. On my left, a couple are talking and laughing happily. On my right, a group of 4 students are arguing about the homework. I don’t like the noisy students. I don’t like anyone to make a single noise while I am in a coffee shop.
Now you are asked to write about one of the following topics:
+ you are in a coffee shop
+ you are in the office
+ you are in a park
+ you are in the countryside
Describe what are happening around you. Write at lest 10 sentences about the activities, using Present continuous tense and ‘AND” appropriately. Also, this time you should write a paragraph, not separate sentences.
