From the actual fact that there are more and more people addicted to the computers and the Internet, one might pose the question whether it is happening to the children. Someone might find this as a surprise, but the Internet is having a very negative effect on the children and their future.

The virtual world is stealing our kids. It is said stealing, because the parents are not fully aware that they are losing the kids to the computers. This happen when the parents feel pleased and proud that their so-called good kids are not going out often, that they are just stay at home and spend time on the Internet, and even that their young genies are going to be like Bill Gates. In contrast, parents should realize that the kids are losing connection with their friends, neighbors, family and the real world. These kids are not confident in talking and establishing relationship with others, and they even do not bother saying much with their parents or anyone else in the family. Gradually, children will find that the virtual world is where they should have belonged to, where they can have and find almost whatever they want.

The virtual world is also mentally and physically damaging our kids. It argued that children can both play online games extensively and study well at the same time. In fact, though they may prove it at first, because the youths are very smart at learning new things and also at deceiving parents, the children are gradually obssessed with the games and so they eventually cannot focus on study any more. Also, the children do not have sufficient time for interacting with the real world to experience and learn new things beyond the books at schools. Concerning the health issue, spending time on computers also means lacking time for exercise, which is essential for the body to fully develop at young age. In addition, reports reveal many cases of children fallen ill due to insufficient nutrion and water intake, because they just forget these very basic needs.

In short, the virtual world is not so wonderful and promising for the children. For this reason, it is strongly suggested that their access to the internet should always be put under strict control.
